Nine Students Earn National Merit Honors

For their excellent scores on the PSAT, nine Mount Saint Joseph seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Evan Althouse and Elijah Pate achieved the distinction of National Merit Finalists, scoring in the top 1.25% of approximately 1.2 million who took the test nationwide. Jameson Beck, Charles Butler, Domenic Iamele, Alexander Johnson, Tyler Superczynski, Justin Sykes, and Michael Wallace scored in the top 3.8% of students to earn National Merit Commended Student honors.

Mount Saint Joseph Principal, Mr. Brendan Donohue, congratulated the students with this statement. “The entire MSJ community is extremely proud of our Semifinalists and Commended Students. This achievement is evidence of not only God-given talents, but also hard work and dedication over the years. In the Bible, Luke 12:48 tells us, ‘To whom much is given, much will be expected,’ and these young men are living out that call to excellence. I am also grateful to all of their teachers and parents for the support they have shown these students throughout their educational journey.”
