Personal Finance Teacher
Opening for 2025-2026 academic year
Mount Saint Joseph High School will have an opening for a full-time Personal Finance teacher for the 2025-26 school year. MSJ seeks a candidate with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree preferably in the business & finance field or in business education. An ability to also teach economics and/or introductory information technology courses is a plus. The ideal candidate should possess excellent knowledge of financial education, personal finance concepts, and current teaching techniques. They must demonstrate the ability to effectively teach critical financial skills such as budgeting, debt management, investing, insurance, behavioral finance, and tax planning, while creating an engaging classroom environment that helps students understand real-world financial challenges. The teacher should be capable of using practical, relatable examples and interactive teaching methods to help students develop essential financial management skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
The candidate should be prepared to go beyond the traditional classroom instruction by actively supporting extracurricular financial learning programs. These may include but are not limited to moderating a Business Club and an Investment Club, coaching Maryland Personal Finance Challenge teams, and facilitating internship and externship opportunities.
For this opportunity, our salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 annually. Candidates with additional experience or qualifications may be offered a salary outside of the range shown.
