Assistant Leader - Summer Sustainability Work Crew
Summer opening for undergraduate or graduate student (June 30 - August 15)
Mount Saint Joseph High School is looking for an Assistant Leader for its Summer Sustainability Work Crew. The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate student with experience in sustainability education, environmental science, and/or experience working outdoors. The Assistant Leader, in conjunction with an MSJ faculty member, will supervise and work alongside a group of high school students to complete sustainability and landscaping tasks. Examples of such tasks include:
- Maintenance of native and pollinator garden spaces
- Basic weeding and mulching
- Composting
- General Landscaping
- Trash abatement
- Maintenance of hydroponic gardens and raised garden beds
- Chaperoning of field trip experiences
Due to the nature of this position, the Assistant Leader should feel comfortable spending significant time outdoors during the summer while doing manual labor.The Assistant Leader will report to the Director of Sustainability, as well as the faculty advisor for the week.
Dates: June 30 - August 15
Hours:
- Mandatory: Monday - Thursday 7:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
- Optional:
- Monday - Thursday until 3:00 p.m.
- Friday hours available
Pay Rate: $22.50/hour
