Before becoming head coach of the lacrosse program in 2020, Tyler Reid served as a volunteer assistant coach at Mount Saint Joseph. Coach Reid also spent three years coaching the goalies and the offensive unit at Stevenson University. He has coached more than 20 All-Americans at the collegiate level.

Coach Reid attended Mount Saint Joseph’s brother school, Xavier High School in Middletown, Connecticut, and played at Stevenson University from 2011-2013, where he was a 2x All-American and 1x Scholar All-American. In 2013, he helped lead Stevenson to their first ever national championship as a starting attackman. He was named Stevenson's 2013 Male Athlete of the Year.

In his five years coaching at Mount Saint Joseph, the team has seen 50 players commit to play lacrosse at the Division I, II and III collegiate levels. The Gaels currently compete in the MIAA A Conference and have previously won two MSA championships.
